PSP 3001 E is the next rumored version of Sony PSP 3001

Off late Sony realized that PSP GO was a kind of failure, which not only dented PlayStation image as a brand but also made Sony paralyzed. It’s like a dream to chase Apple which gone sore with PSP GO. But its little brother the original PSP chased its closest competitor Nintendo’s DS with courage and showed to the world that it’s really hard to beat the classic PSP. I still adore my ageless PSP, the one I bought back in 2008.

If you look at the recent data , PSP outsells the newly launched 3DS in Japan. Sony might be disappointed with PSP GO, but they wanted to continue with PSP. According to a report published in Wireless Goodness, Sony recently submitted a new version of PSP called as PSP 3001 E for FCC clearance . Don’t expect something drastic from Sony, at least. If you are thinking that Sony will going to add a second analog sticks into PSP 3001 E, than you are completely wrong. When Sony announced NGP, they told the world that NGP will be equipped with dual analog sticks for complete gaming experience. This makes NGP, the first handheld console with dual analog sticks. Even Nintendo’s 3DS comes with single analog stick.

As far as PSP 3001 E is concerned, the company added monopole antenna with a –1.5dBi gain, compared to the inverted F antenna with a + 3.5 dBi gain found in PSP 3001 E. Many analysts feel that PSP as a concept lacks the unstoppable fire found in DS and ipod touches. I disagree with all the so called gaming critics, when PSP was launched back in 2005; it was touted as THE NEXT BIG THING  in gaming industry. That pencil box looking device was capable of running games, movies, internet in one Pandora box. You cannot compare PSP with DS or with an ipod touch. Each device caters to different audiences and works well in their demography’s. After all Sony sold a whopping 67.8 million units of PSP till date, you cannot ignore these magical numbers. Let’s hope NGP will carry forward the legacy of mighty PlayStation brand. And try to fulfill the gaps, ignored by previous generation PSP

  2. Hey...3DS is still a new console , NGP release date is still unknown , may be early next year. Take short brakes(10-15 minutes) between game play. I hope this will solve your problem.
